Honoring its UN Global Compact commitment, Packages Group celebrated World Wetlands Day with a focus on biodiversity protection. In collaboration with WWF, an awareness session was conducted by Mr. Sohail Ali Naqvi – Director Freshwater Program.
Wetlands are often referred to as the “Earth’s kidneys” as they filter and purify water, ensuring the balance of our ecosystems. These incredible habitats are home to a rich diversity of plant and animal species, providing a vital breeding ground for countless migratory birds and supporting biodiversity. However, wetlands are facing numerous threats such as pollution, drainage, and climate change. It’s our collective responsibility to raise awareness and take action to preserve these essential ecosystems. Taking this responsibility, Packages Group planted 50,000+ trees including a significant number of mangroves, and is planning to plant more.
